According to officially declared data, 8,597 permissions were granted in January-September of 2025 (2.8 percent less compared to the same period of the previous year) for construction of buildings with total area of 8 483.4 thousand square meters (1% less compared to the same period of the previous year), - the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
More than 70 percent of all permits have been issued in four regions of the country, namely: 45.3 percent in Tbilisi, 10.8 percent in Kvemo Kartli region, 9.8% in Kakheti region and 6.7 percent in Adjara AR.
It should be noted that in January-September of 2025, permissions were issued for the construction of multifunctional residential complexes, trade facilities, hotels, industrial enterprises, objects for agricultural purposes, and other buildings.
2 452 objects (5.6 percent less compared to the same period of the previous year) with total area of 2 475.2 thousand square meters (6.7 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year) were completed in January-September of 2025.
More than two-thirds of the completed constructions are distributed among four regions of the country, namely: 34.8 percent are located in Tbilisi, 12.7 percent — in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 11.6% — in Kakheti region, and 9.1% — in Kvemo Kartli region.
