The number of people receiving monthly salaries in Georgia reached 985,975 in September 2025, marking a 4.9% increase compared to August and a 2.6% rise year-on-year, - according to data published by PMCG. The figures highlight steady growth in employment and a gradual shift in income distribution across the country.
The report indicates that the share of low-income earners continues to decline. In September, 12.5% of employees earned between 0–600 GEL, representing a decrease of 1 percentage point from August and 3 percentage points from September 2024. This trend suggests an improving income structure, with fewer workers falling into the lowest salary bracket.
Meanwhile, the proportion of high-income earners is expanding. Employees earning 2,400 GEL or more per month made up 33.6% of the workforce in September - up 0.5 percentage points from August and 5.6 percentage points higher than the same period last year. This growth reflects both rising wages and the increasing presence of higher-paying jobs in the market.
As for the highest-income group, comprising individuals earning 9,600 GEL or more per month, they accounted for 3% of total salary recipients. Although this share slightly decreased by 0.1 percentage points compared to August, it rose by 0.7 percentage points year-on-year, indicating a modest but steady rise in top-tier income earners.
