The 28-kilometer road leading to Nunisi Resort is nearing completion, according to Irma Daushvili, co-founder of Nunisi Forest Hotel and Spa. Speaking on BMGTV’s Tsertili, she said 24 kilometers have already been fully built, leaving just 2–3 kilometers to complete. The road connects the resort with the Chumateleti turnoff on the route from Tbilisi.
“After 24 years of waiting, an experienced company became involved and the road is being built. This is already a modern road. The remaining 2–3 kilometers will probably be completed by the New Year. After that, it will be possible to reach Nunisi from both Tbilisi and Kutaisi in exactly two hours,” Daushvili said.
Daushvili founded the Nunisi recreation complex with a partner in 2002. She said tens of thousands of people have received treatment and rest at the resort over the past 24 years. Nunisi Forest Hotel and Spa is a therapeutic and recreational complex in the northeastern part of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, known for its mineral water and treatment of conditions including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and eczema.
Daushvili hopes public infrastructure improvements at the resort will accelerate, including gasification and internet connectivity. Electricity supply is also becoming more stable. “Hopefully, other utilities will gradually be added as well, and it won’t take another 20–24 years,” she added.
