Despite earning more, majority say that they can afford the same or less than five years ago, - according to the National Democratic Institute (NDI) poll.
According to the research, majority say their family’s economic situation is satisfactory. However, every second citizen in the ethnic minority settlements says their family’s economic situation is poor.
One in ten Georgians can’t afford food, while one in four can only afford food, but nothing else.
Quarter of ethnic minority settlement residents cannot afford food. Tbilisi residents are more likely than others to afford food and clothes, as well as more expensive durables.
The mentioned report is based on the results of a face-to-face survey of the adult population of Georgia conducted from October 14 to November 4 across the country (excluding the occupied territories). The October survey includes a total of 2,068 completed interviews. The average margin of error in the survey is +/- 2.2 percent.
