Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Derek Mitchell, President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
The conversation focused on the importance of the NDI’s enduring and active engagement for empowering Georgia’s democratic institutions and civil society and supporting good governance.
Readiness was expressed to continue the dynamic of positive cooperation between the Government of Georgia and the NDI and to implement more than one important joint project in the future.
Attention was paid to the strategic partnership between Georgia and the US and the importance of the unwavering support provided by the US for 30 years.
The parties discussed the process of successful implementation of the 12 priorities. The Head of Government reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. It was noted that the country is anticipating the candidate status.
The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze and NDI Country Director in Georgia Alan Gillam.
