“The opposition is in a difficult situation. They hold daily rallies of around 300 people, following the same ritual—blocking the street for an hour before heading home,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze commented on the ongoing opposition protests during an appearance on Imedi LIVE.
According to him, opposition members willingly participate and, in the process, pay tens of thousands of GEL to the state budget each day.
“They come of their own accord and replenish the budget. In that sense, we could even thank them,” he remarked. “As for the opposition parties, they are completely disoriented. Internal conflicts are evident—not just within individual parties, but between them as well.”
