Our goal is to receive the first flight at Telavi Airport in May, 2024, - said the deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili.
According to her, the process to start the actual works of Telavi airport is already underway.
"We are working on the rehabilitation project of Telavi airport on the instructions of the Prime Minister of Georgia. We have already started the preparatory process in order to start the actual work very quickly. The goal and mission is to receive the first flight at Telavi Airport in May 2024. We will connect Telavi Airport with all domestic airports in order to promote the growth of domestic mobility. We will have domestic flights, the government of Georgia will continue to subsidize so that tickets will be even more affordable. The project is historic and it will be very important for the tourism sector of Kakheti", said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
