“We do not want to harm, to punish the people of Georgia. Our intention is to send a very strong signal to the authorities of Georgia that their trajectory is unacceptable,” stated the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski.
According to him, violence is completely unacceptable.
“We have always been very clear. We do not want to harm, we do not want to punish the people of Georgia. People who are every night coming out on the streets, who are waving Georgian flags, who are waving European Union flags. I fully understand how difficult it is for them. It is not our intention to punish them. Our intention is to send a very strong signal to the authorities of Georgia that their trajectory that they have chosen over many months and especially in the last two weeks by brutally using violence towards peaceful demonstrators that it is unacceptable.
Let’s wait till next week. Let’s wait what decisions member states collectively will decide upon,” he declared.
