“Our key foreign policy priority is to become a member of the European Union. We are facing some challenges in this respect. But we are hopeful that by restoring peace around us, the integration path of Georgia will be promoted more intensively,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze when addressing participants of the panel discussion “Partnership in Multipolar Epoch” held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye, which takes place from April 11-13.
According to the PM, peace is key to everything – for development and proper relations between and among different countries.
“In terms of the alliances, we have a very clear vision. Our key foreign policy priority is to become a member of the European Union. We are facing some challenges in this respect. But we are hopeful that by restoring peace around us, especially in Ukraine, the integration path of Georgia will be promoted more intensively. We are waiting for this momentum, and we are hopeful that the developments will also be positive in this respect.
The key to everything is peace, also for the development and proper relations between and among different countries. Everybody, I think, should concentrate on strengthening the peace around us. We are very happy that we are doing it together with Turkiye, which is also promoting a very peaceful vision for development. In the future, we are going to promote our peaceful vision and concentrate on the development of our country, especially on economic development. Without international connections, everybody knows that strengthening the economy of the country is just impossible. Peace, economic development, and prosperity are something on which we all should be focused,” he said.
