Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting on the country’s digital transformation, where a report on achievements for 2022–2024 and plans for 2025 were presented.
According to the government press service, the Prime Minister emphasized that digitalization is a key tool for addressing systemic challenges in public administration.
The Prime Minister noted that the increasing number of citizen complaints regarding the quality of public services necessitates the more active implementation of digital solutions. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan added that priority will be given to digitalizing functions most essential to citizens.
Nerses Yeritsyan, Secretary of the Council for Information System Management, delivered a detailed report on advancements in digitalization. Key projects included the development of a new biometric passport and ID card system, the implementation of a "Cloud First" policy, the creation of a public data catalog, and the digitalization of the "12 Life Events" framework.
For 2025, the plans include expanding access to digital databases through cloud solutions, further digitalizing public services under the "12 Life Events" concept, strengthening strategic communications, and increasing citizen awareness of digital tools.
Following the meeting, Pashinyan instructed the government to develop a clear action plan for 2025, assigning responsibilities to relevant agencies and ensuring regular progress reports. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of working closely with parliamentarians to expedite the adoption of necessary legislative measures.
