In 1H2024, peach exports from Georgia increased. As of the data of the first six months of 2022, the sales rate of locally produced agricultural products outside the country's borders is increasing after a sharp decrease in exports.
According to the statistics of 6M2024, Georgia received an income of USD 2 million 748 thousand by exporting 2 537 tons of peaches, which was an increase of 92.9%.
Exports of peaches in Georgia become active with the harvest. The process starts in May and increases during the summer months. Most of the exports account for June.
Russia has been the main sales market for peaches for years. This year, the main volumes of the product went in this direction.
In January-June, a total of 2,140 tons of peaches worth USD 2,448,000 were sold in Russia, which was almost doubled compared to the same period last year, followed by Armenia. Georgia exported 396 tons of peaches worth USD 300 thousand to the neighboring country.
In 6M2024, peach exports to Georgia also increased. For this period, 948 tons of peaches worth USD 482 thousand entered the country, while the value of 551 tons of peaches imported in 6 months of 2023 did not exceed USD 147 thousand.
Georgia buys peaches from two countries. Georgia bought 947 tons of peaches worth USD 480 thousand from Turkey this year, and a small amount of 0.4 tons of peaches worth USD 2 thousand - from the Netherlands.
