The pension of 410 000 pensioners will be increased by GEL 20 and the pensions of those over 70 will be increased by GEL 25 from 2021, - the Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said during the presentation of the anti-crisis economic plan.
"The challenges such as the global pandemic cannot be overcome in 1-2 months, or in a year or two. We will have to deal with the consequences of this global pandemic over years. Therefore, we decided to think about our most vulnerable group today and to develop certain care mechanisms for our pensioners together with our international partners, which will be backed up at the legislative level.
We have decided to increase all pensions by no less than the inflation rate. This is critically important for the social stability of the country. The pension of all pensioners will be increased by GEL 20 and the pensions of those over 70 will be increased by GEL 25 from 2021”, the PM said.
