As of officially declared data, 12 080 permissions were granted in 2024 (7.1% more compared to the previous year) for construction of buildings with total area of 12 040.4 thousand square meters (28.4 percent more compared to the previous year), - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The document reads, that 73.5% of all permits have been issued in four regions of the country, namely: 46.8 percent in Tbilisi, 10.5 percent in Kvemo Kartli region, 8.2 percent in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, and 8.0 percent in Kakheti region.
In 2024, permissions were issued for the construction of multifunctional residential complexes, trade facilities, hotels, industrial enterprises, objects for agricultural purposes, and other buildings.
3 604 objects (13.3 percent more compared to the previous year) with total area of 3 245.6 thousand square meters (1.4 percent less to the previous year) were completed in 2024.
More than half of the completed constructions are distributed among four regions of the country, namely: 36.2 percent is located in Tbilisi, 13.2 percent – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 12.7 percent – in Kakheti region, and 7.7 percent – in Imereti region.
