Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Zhou Qian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Georgia.
The conversation in the meeting at the Administration of the Government focused on the close friendly relations between the two countries which advanced to the level of a strategic partnership last year, also on prospects of future cooperation.
The parties once again commended the meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia and Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, during the former's visit to Beijing last year, also underlining its importance in Georgia-China relations. Matters pertaining to the implementation of the plans defined by the parties within the scope of said visit were discussed.
The Ambassador briefed the Prime Minister on the so-called elections in Taiwan, in response to which the Prime Minister reaffirmed the Georgian Government's unwavering support for the One China principle. The parties reiterated their support for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
