Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Robert Mærsk Uggla, Chairman of the Maersk Board of Directors today.
Meeting held in Davos was focused on the performance of APM Terminals in Georgia and prospects of future cooperation.
Irakli Garibashvili reviewed the corporate dynamics with Robert Mærsk Uggla and discussed the concrete steps to be made in future.
Focus of the meeting was made on the Middle Corridor positioning as an alternative route connecting Europe with Asia and its significance. As the Prime Minister of Georgia noted, the country is interested in the comprehensive functioning of the Middle Corridor and supports the promotion of the referred transport route in the international format.
The Prime Minister of Georgia highlighted the increased volume of cargo crossing the Poti Port and noted that the total number of containers admitted to the referred harbor in 2023 has been increased by 65.7% in contrast with 2022.
