The process of corporatization of two additional state-owned enterprises will begin this year, - the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, said in the Parliament.
The Minister did not specify which of two enterprises would be included in that process.
"Reform of state-owned enterprises was underway. Last year, in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, a reform strategy was developed and Enterprise Corporate Governance Code was approved. The corporatization of the state electricity system will continue this year, two large enterprises will be additionally selected and the process of corporatization will begin.
We will start introducing financial supervision of state-owned enterprises in the Ministry of Finance, we will prepare to improve the transparency of state-owned enterprises and we will present a package of legislative changes in the parliament for the autumn session," Lasha Khutsishvili said.
