The Area Department Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by James John started work in Georgia by holding its first meeting with Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia on Thursday.
Officials discussed the cooperation enjoyed by Georgia with the IMF and performance of the reforms envisaged in the IMF-supported program. Economic stance of the country since the beginning of the current year and projections for the future were discussed as well.
Meeting was attended by Selim Cakir, IMF Resident Representative in Georgia; Deputy Ministers Giorgi Kakauridze, Ekaterine Guntsadze, Mirza Gelashvili; David Gamkrelidze, Acting Head of State Treasury; Shota Gunia, Department Head for Fiscal Risk Management at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia (MOF).
