The general director of Badagoni, one of the largest wine-producing companies in Georgia, summarizes the results for the 2023 vintage with bm.ge. As Mari Giorgadze says, this year the company increased its production capacity.
According to her, despite the difficult year due to climatic conditions, the quality of grapes was exceptionally high this year.
"The 2023 vintage was successful. "Badagoni" increased the production capacity by 25%. The amount of processed grapes amounts to 8000 tons at the moment.
Due to the climatic conditions, it was a very difficult year, although we are satisfied with the quality, which is also reflected in the quality of the final product - wine" - says the general director of "Badagoni".
The company "Badagoni" combines up to 400 hectares of vineyards in the microzones of Kakheti, although it also cooperates with local winegrowers and collects grapes from them. It should be noted that the annual production of the company is 12 million bottles of wine.
According to the latest data of the National Wine Agency, 204 thousand tons of grapes were processed in the Kakheti region, 350 enterprises were involved in the process of harvesting. The total income from the sale of grapes reaches GEL 247 million.
