Badagoni wine sales returned to pre-pandemic level in China. Giorgi Salakaia, the founder of the wine-producing company says that Badagoni wines are presented in the premium segment in China and the interest in Georgian wine is growing.
"Due to the pandemic, we went through a rather difficult period with China, one of the most difficult countries due to the regulations that they have. We practically returned to the pre-pandemic level, which we had prediceted. We have a very good partner, we can say that we are the only one who is present in central and southern China in the form of Georgian wine, which is quite expensive. We do not enter this country with the whole portfolio and it is not in our interest either", said Giorgi Salakaia, adding that Badagoni increased wine sales in 2022 both in Asia and Europe.
TBC Bank is a partner of Badagoni, one of the largest producers of wine and alcoholic beverages in the country. As Levan Shavkatsishvili, head of the corporate customer service department of TBC, notes TBC has been a supporter of Badagoni's business development for years.
According to Shavkatsishvili, the events that have developed in recent years have put wine producers in front of logistical difficulties, however new opportunities have emerged during the challenges and Badagoni has strengthened its positioning in new markets. In addition, during the last 12 months, the sales share of "Badagoni" has doubled on the Georgian market.
