The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has filed a lawsuit demanding the forfeiture of approximately 20 billion drams ($50 million), as well as real estate and movable property, from former MP and ex-Minister of Nature Protection Vardan Ayvazyan.
It has been reported that the Department for Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property has presented the following demands to the court:
- Forfeiture of 3 real estate properties.
- Forfeiture of 2 vehicles.
- Forfeiture of shares in 8 legal entities.
- Recovery of sums equivalent to the average market value of 2 vehicles.
- Recovery of 2 billion 632 million 342 thousand drams, which allegedly have an illegal origin, were transferred to a bona fide purchaser, or cannot be identified and forfeited.
- Recovery of 18 billion 593 million 643 thousand drams as the remaining income derived from the use of illegally acquired property.
- Recovery of the right to claim a loan amounting to approximately 101 million drams.
The Prosecutor General's Office asserts that the mentioned property and sums cannot be justified by Vardan Ayvazyan's lawful income and are connected to his illegal activities.
