Rehabilitation works are currently in progress on a 7.8 km stretch (km 51–km 58) of the domestic Koda–Partskhisi–Manglisi–Tsalka–Ninotsminda highway, according to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia.
The Roads Department noted that the section under repair passes primarily through unsettled areas.
“This particular stretch was severely damaged and required urgent rehabilitation to ensure safe and comfortable vehicular transit.
The project entails full road restoration, including laying an asphalt-concrete surface, constructing road shoulders, and installing drainage and engineering structures. Intersections and connecting roads will also be built, accompanied by the installation of road signs and new horizontal road markings.
Financed entirely from the state budget, the project carries a total value of nearly 12.9 million GEL. Works are scheduled for completion in 2027,” reads the statement released by the Roads Department.
