Georgia collected a record GEL 178 million in fines for traffic violations in January-August 2026, according to data published by the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance.
Revenue from road traffic fines increased by GEL 20.8 million, or 13.2%, compared with the same period of the last year.
Of the total, GEL 71.2 million went to the central government budget, while GEL 106.7 million was allocated to local government budgets.
The latest figure marks a continued increase in budget revenues from traffic fines, with local municipalities receiving the larger share during the eight-month period.
