Road repair works have been completed on the Kutaisi (Choma)–Alpana–Mamisoni Pass highway, at kilometer 107–112 near the entrance to Oni. Traffic has been fully restored for all types of vehicles, Georgia’s Roads Department said.
The works included stabilizing the landslide area, repairing the damaged road section and constructing a retaining wall to secure the slope and improve road safety.
The road was damaged on July 11, 2026, when a landslide developed on the mountainside at the entrance to Oni, disrupting traffic along the main route.
A temporary bypass was built to maintain traffic while repairs were underway. Following completion of the works, vehicles have returned to the main road.
