"We are going to open Rooms Batumi late in August", - Valeri Chekheria, executive director of Rooms Hotel, told TV program "Business Morning".
"Adjara Group" planned to open a hotel with an investment of USD 20 million in Batumi in 2020, but the COVID pandemic pushed the date to 2022, and in September of the same year, it was announced that Rooms Batumi would open in 2023.
The hotel will create more than 250 jobs in Adjara. As he notes, Rooms is located in the historical part of Batumi, near the port, and consists of 123 rooms.
"A very nice hotel is being built in the seaside resort, which stands out in Batumi for its unique location," Valeri Chekheria says.
Valeri Chekheria also spoke about the possible impact on the quality of the Black Sea water due to the explosion of the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and noted that this factor would cause problems for the tourist season.
"That is why it is necessary to start a very active campaign in the countries from which vacationers come to us most often so that if the sea is checked and we are told that it is safe to swim, we should actively spread this to the neighboring countries as well. I am sure that Batumi will still have a good season this year and tourists will be satisfied with their vacation here," says Valeri Checheria.
