The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has allowed the supply of dairy products from four Armenian companies starting from April 22. This decision follows negotiations between the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert, and the head of the Armenian State Food Safety Inspection Body Armen Hayrapetyan.
"Based on the agreements reached between the veterinary services of both countries and the assurances of the Armenian State Food Safety Inspection Body regarding the compliance of dairy processing enterprises with the requirements of the EAEU, Rosselkhoznadzor from April 22 allowed the supply of dairy products from four companies from Armenia: LLC "Lula", LLC "Ecoatavush", Agricultural Cooperative "Erpin" and JSC "Golden Goat"," the statement said.
During the negotiations, there was noted a significant increase in the supply of fruits and vegetables from Armenia to Russia. "According to the data, as of April 20, 20.8 thousand tons of goods were imported from the Republic, which is 1.9 times more than in the same period last year. The main products coming from Armenia to Russia include grapes, tomatoes, and cucumbers," the Russian inspection agency's press service reported.
In conclusion, Sergey Dankvert and Armen Hayrapetyan expressed satisfaction with the high level of business and trade relations between Russia and Armenia and confirmed their intention to further develop cooperation.
Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the supply of dairy products from Armenia to Russia from April 5, 2023, due to violations found. At the moment, deliveries from Armenia have been partially restored.
