Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of fruits and vegetables from Armenia after identifying violations in the products of 16 Armenian companies. This was reported by the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia.
According to the agency, on July 17, a letter was received from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia, stating that violations were found in batches of fruits and vegetables exported from Armenia to Russia between April and June. As a result, temporary restrictions on product imports were imposed starting July 15.
The Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia announced that all necessary measures are being taken to resolve the situation. Negotiations involving specialists from both agencies have begun, and an online conference is planned for a quick resolution of the issue within the framework of the EAEU. The companies were immediately informed of the detected violations, and the inspection body has initiated control measures.
Earlier, BMG reported that the Russian side had sent a letter to the Armenian authorities, notifying them of the suspension of plant product exports from several companies.
