On September 26, a meeting took place in Moscow between the Head of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), Sergey Dankvert, and the Head of the Coordination Bureau for Inspection Agencies of the Prime Minister's Office of Armenia, Petros Martirosyan. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor press service.
During the talks, the parties discussed the control and traceability systems for agricultural products in both countries. Sergey Dankvert emphasized the importance of unified approaches to monitoring exported goods and production sites.
The Russian side expressed readiness to expand the list of Armenian product suppliers, highlighting particular interest in importing authentic Armenian products, provided they meet quality and safety standards.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, a Russian delegation is currently inspecting Armenian dairy processing plants to assess the production, storage, and shipment of products intended for export to Russia.
The participants also discussed the need to integrate the information systems of the two countries to simplify the monitoring of product movement across the border and ensure quick responses to potential violations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sergey Dankvert and Petros Martirosyan noted the strong business and trade relations between Russia and Armenia and confirmed their intention to further develop cooperation.
