The state-owned TV companies "Rustavi 2" and "Imedi TV" owe the largest debts to the state budget of Georgia.
According to information requested by BMG from the Revenue Service, as of April of this year, the main tax debts of the two TV companies amounts to 41,966,130.19 GEL.
In particular, the budget debt of the Broadcasting Company Rustavi 2 is 25,070,949.47 GEL, while TV Imedi - 16,895,180.72 GEL.
Almost equal budget debts are held by the "TV Pirveli" (9,185,380.65 GEL) and the LLC "Mtavari Arkhi" (9,308,282.73 GEL), which has already been closed.
According to the Revenue Service, LLC "Postv", "TV Company Kavkasia" and LLC "Formula" have no debt to the state budget. LEPL "Public Broadcaster" also has no tax debt, which Georgian taxpayers are funding with 126 million GEL this year.
