In case of repeated violation of the rule of wearing a mask, the fine will be doubled, - Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated about it at the government session.
According to him, it is important to tighten the rules along with easing the restrictions.
"In addition to easing these restrictions, we must also take care of tightening the rules. Therefore, we have decided that when the violation of wearing a mask occurs for the second time, the corresponding fine will be doubled. This is very important because against the pandemic in the world, nothing more effective could have invented than mask, keeping distance, testing and then vaccination. We must do everything to follow these rules effectively, it is in the interest of our economy and our daily lives", - Gakharia said.
The Georgian government has announced the lifting of several coronavirus-related restrictions. According to the government, all public transport will resume operations in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Rustavi starting February 8, as well as open markets. Starting February 15 in-person studies will resume around the country and all food facilities, including restaurants will be able to provide their service only in open areas.
