"The performance rate of the state budget for three months is 106%. According to the individual programs, we have quite good indicators, and we are less likely to expect significant errors and problems", - the First Deputy Minister of Finance, Giorgi Kakauridze, stated at the session of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee.

The Committee convened to review the implementation of the 2023 state budget of Georgia, as presented by the Ministry of Finance. During the meeting, the participants discussed the three-month progress report and its implications for the country's economic performance.

Giorgi Kakauridze, in his assessment, highlighted a positive economic trend based on the results of the first three months.

"In the first quarter, we had real economic growth - 7.2%. During 2023, we have planned a 5% economic growth, and this is what the budget is based on. However, the first quarter results alone do not tell us to look at the annual figures. If this trend is maintained in the next quarters, it will be possible to make some changes in the existing forecasts after six months of analysis. Inflation, as predicted, is decreasing and we think that by the end of the year, the inflation rate will be less than 3%", - Giorgi Kakauridze stated.

According to him, revenues of the consolidated budget have increased, in particular, tax revenues have reached 4 billion 610 million GEL, which is 101.2% of the planned amount, grants have been implemented by 119%, and other revenues by 138%. As for the part of the state budget, there is an excess in all directions.
