Tbilisi City Hall is adding GEL 7.8 million to the Rustaveli Avenue rehabilitation project, according to two additional tenders published on the State Procurement Agency’s website. The tenders concern the rehabilitation of sidewalks from Chovelidze Street to Rustaveli Metro Station.
The procurement documents do not include detailed project descriptions, and companies will be able to submit bids until August 17.
The main rehabilitation works are currently being carried out by Smart Solutions, which was selected as the contractor after submitting a bid of GEL 19.77 million for a project initially estimated at nearly GEL 20 million. The company is expected to complete the works by November, although its director previously said the project may not be finished within the planned 100-day timeframe.
Alongside the road and sidewalk works, GWP is replacing drinking water and sewage infrastructure on Rustaveli Avenue, investing GEL 12.5 million in the project. The rehabilitation began on July 23, and traffic restrictions remain in place on Rustaveli Avenue and part of Merab Kostava Street. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said the works should be completed by the end of November.
