Tbilisi City Hall has announced a competition for the vacant position of municipal bus driver. According to Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the city is preparing to put a new batch of buses into operation, and additional drivers are needed to ensure smooth service.
“The issue concerns bus drivers. A new batch of buses will start operating on the streets of Tbilisi very soon. The average salary of a driver varies depending on the length of the buses and ranges from GEL 3,600 to GEL 5,000 (gross). Employees will also benefit from health insurance,” Kaladze said during a municipal government meeting.
To participate in the competition, interested candidates must hold a “D” category driving license, and for driving 18-meter-long buses, an “E” category license is also required. Selected applicants will undergo interviews as well as additional training and professional education at the Tbilisi Transport Company.
According to the mayor, applications, including resumes and required documentation, must be submitted to the Tbilisi Transport Company at Station Square No. 2.
Kaladze also highlighted the convenience of depot locations across the city: “Bus depots are located in several locations throughout the capital, including the so-called Gldani Bridges, in Didi Digomi, and in the Samgori district.”
The mayor called on interested drivers to apply actively and expressed optimism about the level of interest: “I hope there will be great interest from drivers. This is a good opportunity with stable pay and social guarantees.”
