Reinforcement and reconstruction works are underway in the Legvtakhevi area of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia to create a safe environment. According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the project will be finished in August.
The project is carried out based on the conclusion of the Levan Samkharauli National Bureau of Expertise, and as a result, rockfall prevention measures have begun in the area.
It should be noted that until the risk of rockfall and rock avalanche processes is eliminated, tourist movement in the area is restricted.
"We have started rehabilitation works in Legvtakhevi. The situation in the area was very poor - slope deterioration had begun and there was a danger of rockfall. Therefore, we decided to completely reinforce this space. It's a difficult place to work and we had to set up a temporary platform. We plan to complete the project in August," - stated Kakha Kaladze during the site inspection.
