Tbilisi City Hall has opened applications for its student funding program, which provides tuition assistance for the fall semester of the 2026–2027 academic year to socially vulnerable students, members of large families and students with disabilities. Applications will be accepted from September 22 through November 30.
The program covers Georgian citizens registered in Tbilisi who hold active student status and are enrolled in eligible higher education programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and integrated programs. Socially vulnerable students must have a social assistance rating score of no more than 150,000, while members of large families must come from households with four or more children and have been registered in Tbilisi for at least six months. Students with moderate, significant or severe disabilities, as well as those with the status of a child with a disability, are also eligible.
The maximum funding per semester is GEL 1,125, with the amount determined by academic performance and, for socially vulnerable students, their social assistance rating. Students with an average score above 90 can receive up to 100% of tuition, while those scoring above 70 can receive up to GEL 1,125 under specified eligibility conditions. Funding can fall to 70% (GEL 787.5) or 50% (GEL 562.5), depending on academic performance, social rating and disability status.
Applicants must submit an application, identification document, proof of social or disability status or large-family status, a university certificate confirming student status and tuition fees, an academic transcript from the previous semester, and the university’s bank details or invoice. Internally displaced students must also provide documentation confirming their temporary registration, while students with disabilities and members of large families must provide proof of at least six months’ registration in Tbilisi.
