Tbilisi City Hall is planning extensive rehabilitation works for the central section of Rustaveli Street in Tskneti and the centre of Junkers Street in Kojori, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced during today’s municipal government meeting.

The Mayor noted that the redevelopment of these areas was a key pledge during his election campaign.

“We are launching the rehabilitation of the centres of Tskneti and Kojori, which was one of our core campaign promises. The tender we have launched covers the overhaul of the central section of Rustaveli Street in Tskneti and the heart of Junkers Street in Kojori. The tendering process is set to close on July 13.

Under the framework of this project, large-scale rehabilitation works will be carried out across the central districts of both Tskneti and Kojori. Overhead power lines will be moved underground into purpose-built cable ducts, the street lighting network will be completely modernised with energy-efficient LED lights, and extensive roadworks will take place. This will include resurfacing the roads, upgrading pavements, and carrying out landscaping works to plant new trees and greenery,” Kakha Kaladze has said.
