Tbilisi's municipal cleaning company, Tbilservice Group, has announced a tender to purchase 100 underground waste collection containers with an estimated value of GEL 3.5 million. The procurement notice was published on July 15.
The contract covers both the supply and installation of the containers, including their underground placement. Bids will be accepted between August 12 and August 17, according to the tender documentation.
The technical specifications require the containers to be made entirely of polyethylene and/or stainless steel, with a capacity of 3 cubic meters. The containers must also be fully watertight and designed for mixed household waste without requiring plastic bags or other liners.
The municipality has not yet disclosed where the new underground containers will be installed. Similar waste collection systems are already in operation on several streets across Tbilisi.
