Starting May 16, 18-meter buses will operate on Tbilisi’s N304 route, Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at a municipal government meeting. The change will replace existing 12-meter buses on the route connecting Vazha-Pshavela Avenue and Kavtaradze Street to Tbilisi State University’s “Maghlivi” campus.
According to Kaladze, the upgrade will double passenger capacity and reduce waiting intervals, improving overall service efficiency on one of the city’s busy routes. He added that the change comes in response to citizens’ requests and is part of ongoing public transport improvements.
The 12-meter buses removed from N304 will be reassigned to other routes to help reduce intervals and improve service elsewhere in the network. The city also plans to purchase an additional 200 buses as part of its broader transport development strategy.
Kaladze said the new vehicles will be gradually integrated across routes, while freed-up resources will be redistributed to priority corridors to further strengthen municipal transport services.
