“Current political events have made it clear that opposition parties and their affiliates, who held power from 2003 to 2012, have unified in their resistance. Their tactics remain unchanged—relying on terror, blackmail, threats, arrests, and the harassment of patriotic Georgian families,” businessman Noshrevan Namoradze noted in a letter.
“Today, our patriot Bidzina Ivanishvili faces sanctions, while politicians and businessmen loyal to our country are bracing for similar consequences. My pressing question is: During 2003-2012, the United National Movement and their allies committed atrocities, terrorizing citizens, destroying families, and causing deaths in the streets. Yet, they have never appeared on the sanctions list. Why? Were they paragons of democracy and nobility?
The situation is clear; they are determined to regain power by any means necessary. This unfortunately reflects the standards of Georgian opposition politics. They aim to prosper at the expense of others’ suffering, a cycle that has grown tiresome. Opposition should focus on presenting viable models and programs for the country’s future. Genuine intentions will lead to support.
Regarding the letter sent to Congress, it was crafted by specific Georgian saboteurs with no valid basis. I believe those responsible should face individual accountability and be subject to lustration. They have historically oppressed families while seeking personal gain amidst others’ hardship. I do not condone prosperity built on suffering and firmly believe they will be held accountable in due time. Despite ample opportunity for confession and repentance, they have not changed and remain entrenched in their positions, which is regrettable.
Concerning my mention in that list, I want to clarify that as a devoted patriot and businessman, I am prepared for any challenges—not for personal gain, but out of love for my country and a shared sense of responsibility. Under no circumstances does this red line exist to maintain my and my family’s well-being, this is completely absurd! My actions and stance are, and will always be, grounded in safeguarding my country.
I can distinguish clearly between honesty and deception, and today, the motivations of various players are evident.
Over the past 12 years, the current government has fought valiantly for our country’s stability, prosperity, and, most importantly, for peace.
It is our collective responsibility to cherish our hard-won peace and remain grateful. Ingratitude and blindness are unacceptable to me.
Our country is steadfastly on the true Georgian path and will not become anyone’s vassal. Let us move forward with dignity, heads held high!
We must uphold our true values, traditions, and Orthodox Christianity.
These are the foundations of a brighter homeland—an extraordinary Georgia!”
