In the first quarter of 2024, one thousand major taxpayers in Armenia collectively contributed over 387 billion 109 million Armenian drams (approximately $1 billion) to the state budget. This is 1.6% or more than 6 billion drams higher than the same period last year.
According to data provided by the Armenian State Revenue Committee, in January-March 2024, the amount of tax payments to the tax authority amounted to about 330 billion drams ($846 million), while over 57 billion drams (more than $146 million) were paid to the customs authority.
The list of major taxpayers is led by the company "Mobile Center Art," which is engaged in the import and sale of mobile phones and accessories. Its tax payments to the state budget amounted to 19.9 billion drams (about $50 million).
Compared to the previous year, the taxes paid by the company increased more than 3.7 times. The company, which is the largest network for the sale of mobile phones in Armenia, achieved this indicator through intensive re-export, including exports to Russia.
The second major taxpayer is "Gazprom Armenia," followed by the "Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine" with taxes paid to the state budget amounting to 18.2 and 15.6 billion drams (approximately $45 million and $40 million) respectively.
