In January-March 2024, the number of deaths in Armenia amounted to 7,104 people, which is 4.9% more than in the same period last year.
According to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia, more than half of all deaths (55.9% or 3,972 people) were due to diseases of the circulatory system, which is 6.5% more than in the same period in 2023, "Arka" writes.
In second place among the causes of death were neoplasms (18.3% or 1,299 people, an increase of 4.1%).
Among other causes of death, respiratory diseases were also mentioned (10.2% or 726 people, an increase of 6.9%), diseases of the digestive system (5.2% or 372 people, an increase of 10.1%), external causes of morbidity and mortality (3.4% or 239 people, a decrease of 4.8%), diseases of the endocrine system (1.7% or 120 people, an increase of 0.8%).
