The National Wine Agency’s freelancer limit has been set at 237, according to a government decree, 137 for auxiliary work and 120 for non-permanent work. This far exceeds the agency’s 50 permanent staff.
Remuneration for 115 freelancers will come from the Management and Administration of the Viticulture-Environment Development Program, 22 from the Viticulture Development sub-program, and 120 from Harvest Promotion Measures.
The agency’s 2025 budget is GEL 81 million, mostly for the grape harvest subsidy program. The state-owned Harvest Management Company will purchase grapes worth GEL 50 million, while the preferential agro-credit program will continue with up to GEL 17 million in subsidized loans for wine companies.
