The Prosecutor's Council selected Giorgi Gabitashvili, Deputy Prosecutor General, as a candidate for the position of Prosecutor General. Accordingly, his candidacy will be presented to the Parliament.
We remind you that yesterday, in accordance with Article 16 of the Organic Law of Georgia "On the Prosecutor's Office", the Prosecutor's Council selected three candidates for the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia - Viktor Akhalbedashvili, Darejan Butskhrikidze and Giorgi Gabitashvili.
Giorgi Gabitashvili received 11 votes in the voting, which is more than two-thirds of the full composition of the Prosecutor's Council. Viktor Akhalbedashvili and Darejan Butskhrikidze did not receive a single vote.
