The state is in a dispute with "23rd Bureau of China Railways", one of its largest Chinese contractor companies, - according to the National State Procurement Agency.
As the agency notes, the dispute concerns the fourth 9.5-kilometer lot of the Samtredia-Grigoleti road built by the company. This road was built with a loan taken from the European Investment Bank and its cost is GEL 113 million. The content of the ongoing dispute with the "23rd Bureau of China Railway" is not yet known.
On Monday, the Roads Department published a statement, according to which the fourth section of the Samtredia-Grigoleti road will be closed for inspection from November 27 to December 9.
"Within the framework of the procedure, from November 27, 2023, from 14:00 to December 9, 2023, it is planned to inspect bridges and other artificial structures, and if necessary, to take appropriate measures. All types of motor vehicles are temporarily prohibited.
Planned inspection and relevant measures will be carried out by the contractor company within the warranty period stipulated by the contract," the statement reads.
The largest ongoing project of the "23rd Bureau of Chinese Railways" is the construction of a 13-kilometer section of Kvesheti-Kobi new highway.
