“I have a different attitude towards people who do not respect my homeland and its population. Their statements and actions hold no value,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to questions regarding the absence of government representatives in meetings with the chairs of the foreign affairs committees of several EU countries visiting Georgia.

“A few months ago, we heard a statement from high-ranking EU officials that they would not meet with members of the Georgian government. This approach is reminiscent of Soviet tactics, a stance influenced by radicals, some of whom are currently in Georgia, and we’ve heard their statements from abroad,” Kaladze stated.

Regarding the legitimacy of Georgia’s elections, Kaladze reiterated that legitimacy is granted by the Georgian people, not by foreign officials.

“As for legitimacy, it is granted by the Georgian people. I understand that for the radicals, the Georgian people hold no significance. They are united under one wing, with one patron, and their actions are guided from the outside. They do not belong to this country, their families, or themselves, as their interests lie elsewhere. However, one thing is clear: legitimacy comes from the Georgian people,” he added.

Furthermore, Kaladze condemned European officials for what he described as interference in Georgia’s internal political affairs.

“We have directly witnessed interference in our country’s internal political affairs over the past few months. Putting everything else aside, they actively participated in the election campaign through their statements and actions. This is unimaginable, but believe me, very soon everything will fall into place. Everyone will receive a worthy response, and those from outside will show proper respect toward our country and people,” the Mayor declared.
