In August 2022, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted USD 334.3 million (927.4 million GEL), which is 63.1% (USD 129.4 million) more than the amount in August 2021, - according to the report published by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
As of the document,97.8% of the total money transfers from abroad came from 25 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding USD 1 million in August 2022. In August 2021 the share of these 25 countries constituted 93.0% percent of the total volume of money transfers.
Money Transfers By Countries:
1. Russia - USD 111 million, an increase of 195%;
2. Italy USD - 36.6 million, an increase of 9%;
3. USA - USD 29 million, an increase of 19%;
4. Greece - USD 19 million, a decrease of 3%;
5. Israel - USD 18 million, an increase of 8%;
6. Armenia - USD 17 million, an increase of 1,400%;
7. Germany - USD 15 million, an increase of 50%;
8. Kyrgyzstan - USD 13 million, an increase of 658%;
9. Kazakhstan - USD 12 million, an increase of 167%;
10. Turkey - USD 9 million, a decrease of 2.5%.
Accoridng to the NBG, in August 2022, USD 29.5 million (or GEL 81.9 million) was transferred from Georgia, which is 7.6% more as compared to USD 27.4 million in August 2021.
