Ukraine occupies the ninth place with a 2.7%-share among the foreign trade partners of Georgia. In 2021, the country was in the sixth position in this ranking. According to the data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, in 2022 the trade turnover with Ukraine during the year amounted to USD 507 million, which was 33.2% lower than the figure of 2021.
According to Geostat, in 2022, Georgia earned an income of USD 232 million from the sale of goods in Ukraine - motor cars are the main exporting commodities with Ukraine, which are fully re-exported. The share of these goods was 51.6% in the total export to Ukraine.
As for imports, according to official statistics, a total of USD 274 million 890 thousand were spent on the purchase of goods in Ukraine, which was the lowest rate of imports from Ukraine in the last ten years. The biggest volume of goods in the imports are motor cars.
