TOP-15 countries with the most tourists

According to data from the National Tourism Administration, Georgia recorded 5.3 million international visits in the first three quarters of 2025, a 5.6% increase compared to the same period last year. The figures reflect the continued recovery of the tourism sector and the growing interest of travelers from both neighboring and distant countries.

As in previous years, Russia remains the largest source of tourists, with 1,245,744 visits, marking a 12% annual increase. Turkey ranked second with 963,633 visits, representing a 9% decline, while Armenia placed third with 720,114 visits, down 1.7% year-over-year.

Beyond these three leading markets, the top 15 list also features a mix of regional and long-haul destinations. Notably, Israel recorded 293,699 visits (+28%), Azerbaijan – 220,168 visits (+35%), and Kazakhstan – 139,246 visits (-5%). Belarus saw 127,265 visits (+7.7%), followed by India (103,968, +19%), Ukraine (101,930, +14%), and China, which showed the strongest growth at 96,333 visits (+45%).

Meanwhile, Iran registered 96,305 visits, down 20%, while Saudi Arabia had 84,384 visits (+9%). Among European countries, Germany accounted for 65,968 visits (+5%), Poland – 64,210 (+21%), and Uzbekistan – 61,949 (+23%). Overall, the data underscores Georgia’s diverse tourism base and growing appeal across both traditional and emerging markets.
