According to a report published by the National Tourism Administration, 50,499 international visitors crossed the Georgian border last month. The number of visitors is 94% less than in 2019. In September, the largest number of 18,540 visitors came to Georgia from Turkey. In annual terms, the number of Turkish visitors reduced by 80%.
As for border types, 88% of visitors came to the country - by land, 10% - by air. 2% of visitors visited the country by rail and sea.

According to a report by the National Tourism Administration, along with the record drop in the number of visitors, the demographics have also changed radically - in particular, 93% or 47,146 people out of 50,499 visitors. The number of female visitors is only 3,353. Men outnumbered women in the total number of visitors last year, too, although, in 2019, the ratio was 62% / 38%.
Such a sharp gender imbalance of visitors this year is likely because most visitors entered the country for technical reasons such as freight forwarding and the vast majority of truck drivers are male.
