The Armenian Tourism Committee has published statistical data on tourist visits to the country for August 2024 and for the first eight months of the year overall.
In August 2024, 300,919 tourists visited Armenia, which is slightly lower compared to 328,486 tourists in August 2023. Despite this decrease, August remains one of the most successful months of the year in terms of arrivals.
From January to August 2024, a total of 1,485,035 tourists visited the country, which is 127,413 fewer visitors or 7.9% less than in the same period of 2023, when 1,612,448 tourists were recorded. The decrease in tourist flow was observed almost every month in 2024 compared to the previous year.
Despite the overall decline, the structure of the tourist flow remains stable. In the first eight months of 2024, the largest share of tourists came from Russia (43.2% of the total), followed by Georgia (11.9%) and Iran (7.5%).
