Trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia decreases by 6.5% in January-April 2024

The trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia for the period from January to April 2024 amounted to over $80 million, marking a 6.5% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Armenian exports to Georgia significantly declined by 11.4%, reaching $45.6 million. Meanwhile, imports from Georgia to Armenia slightly increased by 1%, totaling $34.5 million.

In the first four months of 2024, the share of Armenian-Georgian trade in Armenia's total foreign trade turnover is 0.6%.

Another aspect of the statistics concerns the import of goods into Armenia that are supplied from Georgia but are not of Georgian origin. In other words, these goods are purchased in Georgia and then imported into Armenia, but they were not produced in Georgia.

In this category, exports from Georgia to Armenia decreased by 43.8% in the first four months of 2024. Nevertheless, this trade remains significant, amounting to $220.4 million.
